Easter Weekend

Nate had a fun-filled 1st Easter. Saturday he went to Gadsden to celebrate his 2nd cousin Corbin's 1st Birthday. We had fun with all of the family and it was a beautiful day to be outside for a party. On Sunday, we went to Church and then came home and had a nice lunch with Nate's Nena and Alie. Nate sat at the table with all of us (in his highchair) and ate mashed potatoes and ham like a big boy!

Nate officially has 4 teeth. It seems like it took weeks for those top two to come down but they are here and it is so much fun to use them! Before they arrived, he was chewing on everything to make it feel better, now I think he chews on everything just for the fun of it! So much so that we have had to babyproof his own crib because he likes to gnaw on the railings. I am still working on getting a picture that displays all four of his little chompers.

This is a pic of Nate's new funny thing to do...he loves to get in his Pack and Play and smash his face against the netting and make funny faces at us. Of course it makes us laugh, so he keeps hamming it up. He is a little entertainer!

Well At Last!

We had a nasty stomach bug that lived in our home all last week...needless to say, there weren't a whole lot of cute photo ops during that time. But this weekend seems to have been the end of our sickly days, and we got to get out of the house (after the tornados blew through at least) and enjoy a beautiful Sunday. Nate did a lot of shopping with his mommy and his Nena...we've got him trained well!
Not only was Nate sick all of last week but his top two teeth also decided it was time to start popping through, which added to the fun! It hasn't been pleasant for him, so he is doing whatever he can to ease the discomfort and today that was serious rasberry blowing. He started cracking himself up with the sounds he could make and the slobber he could produce. We are so happy to have our happy, silly boy back after a week of misery!

And he's off...

About a week and a half ago, Nate figured crawling out and he has been in to everything ever since. He's pretty quick too! So, that means he is moving to "the other side" in the nursery now that he is one of the mobile babies. One day last week when I dropped him off, he made a bee-line for a tiny little girl sitting on the floor and just clobbered her with the biggest smile on his face...so it was time for him to play with the kids who could escape his slobbery hugs!

Another skill he has acquired is pulling himself to standing...but he really only does it in his crib. First I found him one morning on his knees gnawing on the rail, then this weekend I found him on his feet. So, that means we had to drop his mattress down to prevent him from falling out. And now that he has this new skill, he just wants to practice - alot. Naps are a little tricky now that all he wants to do are pull ups.

Today was Davis's Birthday...hard to believe he would be 2. So, we had our annual Dinosaur Party and then came home and enjoyed the gorgeous day outside. This day will always be heavy for us, but Nate helped to lighten us up and help us enjoy the day. And what a great one it was - we are so happy Spring is on its way!
