Nate's Date with Thomas

To say Nate is obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine (and his friends) would be an understatement. He sleeps with at least two trains every night, he knows every single train's name (to include the buses, helicopter, and other random train yard equipment - I still can't even tell them all apart), he can spend hours in his playroom pushing the trains around the track, and several times a day he comes up to us just to say "Watch Thomas?" and when we let him watch it he starts dancing around. Then he proceeds to narrate each episode as only he can..."Thomas sad", "Slow down Thomas!", "Be Careful Percy!, "Crash!"....

So, when Amanda and Jackson bought him tickets to see Thomas Live at the Fox Theater for his birthday, he was very excited! He loved the Fox - the stars lit on the ceiling were captivating, he kept saying "tinkle tinkle!". Then the show started and whoa...he went nuts! He jumped up in my lap and screamed "Hi Thomas!! Hi Percy!! Hi Gordon!! etc etc" pretty much the whole show. I was worried that his attention span wouldn't be long enough for t
he whole show but he did great. It was a fun night and it was really cool to see him so excited to see Thomas in "real life"!

Nate & The Girls

This weekend the Schneider's (Allyson, Scott, Pamela, and the twins - Shelby and Summer) came to visit us from FL and it was a fun-filled weekend! I took about 250 pics this weekend so here are a few highlights from their visit...

The crew having a snack together
Allyson & Scott went looking at houses Friday morning, so Michael and I volunteered to watch the kids and we got a tiny peak of what it is like having 4 kids...!

The adorable twins
Nate decided to jump in the pool fully clothed....and had a ball....We fed the ducks at the lake in the neighborhood

We celebrated the 4th by taking the wagon up to the pool...
...where Amanda joined us and claimed her man.

The boys played Bocci ball and the kids "helped" and played in the pool some more

And then, for the grand finale, we watched the Roswell fireworks from the neighborhood. I think Nate was pretty impressed. He shouted out the colors and said "boom!".
It was a great holiday weekend and we were so glad the Schneider's came to visit...we hope they are our neighbors very soon!

Fireman Nate

Nate's birthday party on Saturday was great...weather was perfect and everything went off without a hitch. The only problem was when I went to upload my pics there was nothing on my card - not sure what happened but it was pretty heartbreaking. So, I am gathering all of the pics that friends and family took - thank you everyone - and finally have some to post but it was easiest to put them in an album, so check out the 2nd Birthday Album to the right.

So, the theme was Firetrucks - for the past month or two he has gotten really excited every time he sees a fire truck and would say "Fire Truck Cool" so I figured this was a pretty safe theme.

All of the kids got a fireman's hat with their name on it when they arrived and went to play in the yard...and then, the real Firetruck showed up! The Roswell Fire Dept was great....they showed up (on time) with 4 firemen, brought the kids hats and coloring books, let the kids in the truck, try on their gear, and even answered some of the dads' questions! It was great!

After the firetruck excitement, we all ate Firehouse Subs and then ate cupcakes and ice cream. The kids went back to the yard to burn some of the sugar off and then it was time for naps. It was a great afternoon with everyone - I think the kids all had a good time which was the best part!
