Let's go back...(Part 2 - Slumber Party!)

One Saturday, we had some friends over to watch football.  After dinner, once the little babies were asleep, we tried to find a way to get Nate and Amanda to settle down while the grown ups still watched the game...so we decided to pull out the living room sofa bed, put in a movie, and put them in their pj's.  It sort of worked...they had a little too much fun jumping on the bed and attempting to flood the kitchen but they were too stinkin' cute together to get in trouble....

Let's go back... (Part 1 - Matthew is 6 mos!)

There was too much fun stuff that happened in Oct (and cute pics) to just skip over it, so, now that I have time on my hands (see a "Part" soon to be posted) I thought I would take some time to catch up....so let's go way back to the beginning of the month...

Matthew turned 6 mos...his stats were:

Weight - 16.3 lb
Height - 27.5 in
(My ped office has new software now so I can't read these new charts to figure out what that means in percentiles - but those never mean much to me anyways.  He is basically "normal" size!)
Big Brother was "helping" with this photo shoot
The week before his "bday" he sat on his own!  I was so excited that when Michael came home shortly after I had laid him down for bed I went back in to his room, got him up and made him perform for daddy! You can see he looks a little sleepy (and confused) in the pic. (Luckily he likes to sleep so he went right back down.)

He has picked up his eating during the month of Oct...he is now up to 3 meals of solids a day.  He loves his rice cereal (the apple flavor is his favorite), and likes apples, bananas, squash and green beans...peas and peaches are not his favorites.
It really isn't fair that my sons have these eyelashes

Sleeping hasn't really changed...still 2 long naps during the day with a little cat nap before dinner...and down by 7:30.  He stays in bed until 7:30 or 8:00 every morning...basically he just lays in bed and plays until I get dressed in the morning.  He is too good to me...

"I want to go to Tennessee"

Miss us?  I have lots to catch up on but I will start with our quick trip to Knoxville this past weekend to visit Michael's Uncle Chuck and Aunt Leslie....Alie was able to join us too...so it was a fun family weekend.

Uncle Chuck is the most resourceful man in the world...he built a "pool" in his yard that we decided more resembled an animal exhibit at the zoo (in a fun way)!  Nate was enthralled...there were islands and fountains and rocks and a water wheel...it might as well have been a water park.  It is late Oct so the water is of course chilly...Nate was fine at first just rolling his pants up and dipping his toes in and using it as an obstacle course but it didn't take long before he said "Mom, I want my swimsuit"...not exactly something I packed.  (and yes, he has taken to calling me "Mom" lately...it bothered me at first but now I am used to it!)  So, he stripped himself down to his underpants (which oddly is the second time in the last week that he has done that....stay tuned for that post!) and had a ball!

Not only does Uncle Chuck have a cool pool, but he also has a farm!  So, he has lots of giant tractors and dump trucks and mowers to play with....he even got to help crank them...too fun!

Oh, and did I mention Uncle Chuck lives on the Lake???  So we took a boat ride before we left...but I had a sleeping baby in my arms so no good shots of that adventure...but Matthew did take his first steps on the dock before we left (haha)...

Nate had so much fun at Uncle Chuck and Aunt Leslie's house...we told  them that we are going to start sending the boys up for "camp" every summer!  I KNOW they would learn a LOT!  Now Nate says "I want to go to Tennessee" and I am pretty sure he thinks Uncle Chuck's house is Tennessee.
