Thanksgiving

Well, yesterday's post was a tease...I didn't realize Michael moved all of our pictures to the external drive so that made updating more challenging.  So before I go back I thought I would start with this weekend....

We were so fortunate to see so much of our family over Thanksgiving this year.  My dad dropped in on Monday...Abby and Jeff on Tuesday....we all drove over to my Grandparents' in AL on Wed and spent a nice day with them and my aunts and uncle.  Julie and her family came in late Wed night.  So that brought us to Thursday....Turkey Day.  We had my mom and Fred, Michael's mom, and (for the first time in years) both of my  sisters at Thanksgiving (and their families of course) - 9 adults and 4 kids.  And we had a very nice lunch and day....we stuffed ourselves, then played outside with the kids, then came back for more...

We missed seeing Papa Steve and CC....but hopefully we will see them again soon...because we also welcomed a new nephew/cousin the day before Thanksgiving.

I am so thankful to have spent the day with so many of our loved ones!

A Month to be Thankful For

I haven't been able to blog lately and a lot of that is due in part to the fact the last month or so has been so jam packed...we have been enjoying ourselves so much I didn't have time to stop and document everything.  There was actually a moment in time over the last couple of weeks where we had 3 suitcases in our bedroom that needed to be unpacked from different trips...and not even because I was lazy (for the most part) but that we were coming and going so much*.  But thankfully we take a million pictures (most) everywhere we go so I want to spend this perfectly relaxing Thanksgiving weekend to catch up and reflect....bear with me while I spend some time going back in time...

(*I have to note that those suitcases have been unpacked and all laundry has been done...for now...)

Burt's Big Ol' Pumpkins

We tried a new patch this year...weekend before last we followed some friends up to the mountains and found out what Burt's Pumpkin Patch was all about...enormous pumpkins and giant crowds!  wow, on both accounts.  Luckily we got there early so we were just a tiny bit ahead of the worst of the masses.  When we got there the hayride line was pretty long so we thought we would wait it out and take pics first...big mistake...the next thing I knew the line had backed up all the way to the entrance of the patch.  So, no hayride for us.  It was a gorgeous fall day so that alone was worth the drive but I think we can say we checked Burt's off the list of patches to see!
