2009 was an interesting year. We started the year out of our home (our house sold much more quickly than we had anticipated at the end of 2008 and we found temporary living arrangements with Nena), Michael's company downsized, and we really weren't sure what was ahead. But, the year quickly picked up and we moved in to our new home/neighborhood, Michael went back to his old company, Nate started a new school and the biggest news of all this year is our little Baby Boy on the way. It has been a roller coaster of a year but ultimately we ended on a happy note and are looking forward to what 2010 has in store for us!
We had a really quiet New Years...we met the Luskins for an early dinner out with the boys then came home and watched the UT game. We were in bed before midnight...I woke up just in time to see the ball drop! New Years day was spent taking Christmas down and watching the FSU game....I have to admit I was a little teary-eyed watching Bowden win his last game.
I normally don't make resolutions but there are a few things this year that I do want to focus on...one being that I want to blog more frequently...I am really not good at updating Nate's baby book as much as I know I am going to wish I had so this is my journal for my babies. I have all of the pictures but I want to remember the stories and the timing and the funny things they say. I gave Michael a Flip video camera for Christmas so I am determined to figure out how to post some video on here too.
So, since I know I didn't do a great job this year, I thought I would post some of the pics from 2009 that I meant to blog about but didn't have time. :)
First off, this is a pic of Nate from New Years Day last year...he looks like such a baby here...hard to believe how much he has grown up in a year...
Roswell has a great Sprayground that just opened this year...Nate was a little timid at first but he finally got the hang of running through the water. I have a feeling we will be spending more time here this Summer.
We went to the Chattahoochee Nature Conservatory where Nate took an interest in watering the flowers like he helps me with at home.
And he chased a goose around
Then we went for Ice Cream!
We went to an End of Summer cookout at the Cibulas, where we managed to get all of the kids (except ours) to sit and pose for a picture. Four of these kids will have a sibling added to this picture next year!
Michael and I went with the Pavloff's and Luskin's to see Pete Sampras play an exhibition match with Todd Martin...couldn't resist posting this pic bc it was pretty cool (for us tennis fans at least) to get to see these guys play up close. We also saw Melanie Ouidin and the Bryan Brothers play last month but my battery died and no pics. :(
We had a family photo session this fall...it was one of those days where Nate just wouldn't nap for more than 20 mins and didn't feel like participating so it was a long afternoon and somewhat of a struggle (hence the reason there is a dump truck in the majority of our pictures). But we managed to get a few good shots of the three of us and some of Nate.
I missed posting for Thanksgiving altogether but we had a great time in Knoxville. Nate loves hanging out with his cousins there. Here is Piper reading to him before lunch.
Piper, Gavin, Sydney, Ryn, and Nate
He had so much fun trying to keep up with the big kids...this pic of him trying to climb the fence with Ryn just makes me laugh...
The big event of the weekend was riding the Christmas Express...it was a great train ride along the river with cocoa and cookies and even Santa himself! Nate still talks about his ride on the train.
And to end the weekend, we went to Festival of Trees...where Nate looked at lots of fun decorated trees...
Made lots of fun Christmas crafts (including decorating this tiny tree that he kept in his room for the holidays)...
And rode on the Carousel.
And we went to my Cousin Bo's wedding this month where he slept through the entire ceremony like a perfect angel.
It was a really fun year with our little guy and we know this year will be even better.

I enjoyed reading your 2009 recap!
Have you picked out a name for baby boy yet?
Looks like Nate enjoyed the train ride. We want to do that in Knoxville next year. He's SO fickle about Santa that I didn't want him to cry in fear! Did Santa tour the train?
Happy New Year!
