Birthday Blast

Matthew's 2nd birthday party was this weekend and it was out of this world!

After a rainstorm blew through Friday night and Saturday morning I was a little concerned about the fate of Matthew's Rocket party...but the clouds parted and the sun shone down on our fun day.  Even the birthday boy did his part to help the day go smoothly...he is normally an after lunch napper but he was kind enough to agree to nap perfectly from 10-12...so he woke up just in time for the "launch" of his party!

Our space party kept the kids busy...of course there had to be a "moonwalk"...

A drawing table with lots of glittery stickers...that ended up everywhere and even on a few kids.  

The Rocket Balloons were an unexpected hit...and Fred was kind enough to be the official balloon blower-upper for our little martians...

...a Rocket Ship that all of the kids helped to decorate...

...and the Rocket Stomp.

I think Matthew really enjoyed his day.  He was happy all day...

...yet very serious about his jumping!

 And then the after party began...and things got a little wild....

Matthew finagled another cupcake (pretty sure a grandmother had something to do with that)

It was a perfect day...and we still have his real birthday yet to come this week.  Thanks to those who joined us and helped to make it such a BLAST!!
