Winter 2013

Betcha thought I gave up....

I was just on a 4 month blogging hiatus...but, I seem to have left some of you in suspense as to what happened after Breakfast with Santa (one persistent sister in particular) so I am determined to get caught up on all of the events of Winter 2013!

Here is the rundown on how December wrapped up:

In one night, we had Nate's Yellow Belt Test
I don't know where his "victory" pictures are...but I continue to be so proud and impressed with how seriously he takes his practice.

Then we went from the test to his school Christmas musical...and I seem to also be missing pictures from that.  He was an adorable Shepperd (I will have to find a picture bc he resembled an adorable litle Ewok).  Since we were running late getting there from karate, we ended up in the very back of the church and didn't get to see much.

After the test and the performance, we went to mom's house for an early Christmas celebration with Abby and Julie (and family) in town.  More pictures that are MIA...clearly I am missing a memory card.

{One Christmas picture I wish I had was Abby and me following Chipper Jones up and down the toy aisles in Target and making fools out of ourselves in front of him - totally worth it :) }

Another missing photo opp is our Christmas Eve morning with Santa at the neighborhood breakfast.  Santa came to our neighborhood clubhouse to read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and spend some one on one time with the kids just as one final naughty or nice check.  Luckily, my boys were on the 'nice' list and Santa "remembered" to bring their Christmas Eve gift to the party this year!  We came home, made our traditional cookies for Santa, and curled in to beds (well, the kids did at least)....

Then the worst Cox Christmas Tradition began...Nate woke up around 1 AM (the elves were still hard at work) throwing up.  It was so sad...he kept saying "why am I sick on Christmas Eve??"  I wish I knew how it was possible two years in a row buddy...

But nothing was stopping this 5 yr old from enjoying Christmas, so he willed himself back to sleep in case Santa wouldn't come if he was awake.  Christmas morning he came in to our room, laid on the floor and said pitifully "Let's see if Santa came".  He perked up once he made it down to see his loot...

Poor kid finally collapsed next to his Mega Loop Track mid-morning.  And because of that, no one wanted to come over to spend the holiday with us (understandably so).  So, the table stayed set...we divvied out all of the food that was prepared...and we spent a quiet rainy Christmas day curled up watching movies and playing with our new toys.

Here's to hoping that Christmas 2013 is illness-free!
