Daddy got to do his favorite thing on Saturday morning (play tennis) and me and the boys had plans to meet my cousin and her family to see Toy Story 3 (or as Nate still insists on calling it - Play Story)....but logistics and timing weren't working in our favor so our plans fell through. However, it isn't wise to mention something like this to a 3 yr old and expect them to forget about it...so we ended up taking him to see it Saturday evening instead. We bought the tix online and as soon as we did we both said "are we crazy?"...but we went for it...I wish I had a picture of Nate sitting on the edge of his seat wearing his 3D glasses with a giant bucket of popcorn in his lap (and him shoveling it in). It was absolutely adorable. He loved the movie and kept his "sunglasses" on the whole time. (Yes, we brought Matthew too and he was perfect...not sure that I would do it again but I kept him in his sling, fed him a bottle mid-movie, and he slept pretty much the rest of the time. I was nervous but the good thing about going to see a kid's movie is that he wouldn't have been the only kid crying if he had!) I thought the movie was great (a little sad)...not sure it was worth paying the 3D price, as there really wasn't much 3D about it, but it was a fun family outing and Nate loved it.
Father's Day was spent lounging by the pool...Michael got to play tennis again during nap time (did I mention he loves to play tennis?)...and we went to Alie's for a delicious steak dinner. I hope Michael had a nice day and feels as appreciated as he is.
(I was forbidden from posting the pictures I took at the pool of Michael and Nate playing - despite the fact my husband looks better in a bathing suit than most 25 yr olds, in my opinion - so you get pics of Matthew lounging on his beach chair instead...enjoy)
To Michael... Thank you for being my partner in this crazy job of parenthood. Thank you for sharing in the bathing, diapering, pottying, feeding, disciplining and soothing duties. Thank you for being a great teacher and role model. Thank you for being such a great daddy to our boys. They love you and so do I.
And to our Dads - Grandpa Dale & Papa Steve - we love you!
