Back to Reality...

My Matthew...he is the sweetest little thing and I just love him to pieces. I feel like I already know his little personality (and it is a good one) and have a language with him. He smiles so easily and is the sweetest little cuddle monkey...he just makes me gush (if you can't tell).

Going to School

So, that is what has made the past few days so hard. Last week we got our feet wet with our new routine...he went to daycare for a few days last week (2 partial days, one full day) and I went back to work. I thought it would be easier, given that I had already gone through this with Nate and I knew that we figured things out and he turned out well...but that hasn't really been the case. Well, actually the first day wasn't so bad considering that I realized I left his bottles at home as soon as I got him in the infant room (it's a good thing we live close by)...so my morning turned more frazzled than sad (maybe it was a good thing). But, today was our first real Monday and it has sunk in. I think the hardest part is not only being away from him during the day, but also knowing that his routine that we had established and he was used to has now been distrupted.
But I am somewhat comforted by the fact that this is short-term and I know we can get through 15 weeks of this routine (hard to believe that is all that is left of the office/job that I have been going to for almost 11 years?!). And despite the fact that his daytime napping has bordered on non-existent while he is at daycare, he has started sleeping through the night!! So, he may not be on his perfect 3 hour schedule with an 1.5 hr nap in between each feeding but at least I can't complain about the nighttime routine being sporadic any more.

Here were his stats at his 2 month check up:

Weight - 12 lbs

Height - 23.5 in
And look who found their thumb...
