A Memorable Memorial Day Weekend

We had a very busy holiday weekend...

On Saturday, Nate went with Neena and Fred and Fred's family (including 3 kids) to Stone Mountain for a day of fun (mommy and daddy actually got a few things done around the house with our "hands free"). Nate had been talking about riding the "Stone Mountain Train" for days, ever since Neena mentioned it to him, so it was a good thing the weather held for them to go. Neena has all of the pics but by the looks of it he had a blast.

On Sunday, Nate played with his girlfriends - Amanda, Pamela, Summer and Shelby. It was a fun day of playing and grilling in between rain showers! The threat of rain kept us from trekking up to the pool but we whipped out the baby pool and the sprinkler during a sunny patch and made our own fun!
On Monday, Michael played in the round robin Tennis tourney in the neighborhood so the boys and I walked up to the courts, had a picnic, and played on the playground. It was a hot one so, after our outing, we went home and ate popsicles.

(I just realized they make these small "slow melt" popsicles for kids...we had been eating fruit bars that were melting faster than Nate could eat them which was a huge sticky mess...so I am very happy to have figured this out.)

And then we stretched the long weekend out one more day since Aunt Abby and Uncle Jeff came in to town! We spent the entire day at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens...it was really sunny and hot (despite the clouds and rain in the forecast) but we had a really nice day exploring. The new children's area is great...Nate spent the day running around from one thing to the next...

All of his excited running caught up to him...he got a couple of skinned knees...
