CC and Papa Steve bought Nate tickets to go see Thomas in Chattanooga and we had been counting down the days...we have seen lots of trains since his infatuation began but never the "real deal" Thomas. Unfortunately, family events prevented CC and Papa Steve from joining us at the last minute so Neena and Fred were the lucky and willing grandparents who filled in.
Also unfortunately, Nate woke up sick the morning we drove up there and got progressively worse throughout the day. The cards were stacked against us....but we still enjoyed the (unseasonably chilly) day...I think Matthew was more amazed than Nate...poor guy curled up in my lap while we ate lunch in a real dining car so you know he felt bad!

So fun! Hate that Nate was sick. Jack just had his 2nd round of Strep. Just waiting for Mags to be next:( Praying not though!
