Magic Day 2 - Magic Kingdom

One of the many perks of staying in the park is being able to take advantage of the "Magic Hours"...on our first park day the Magic Kingdom opened at 8 for people staying in the resorts so we got the kids up and at 'em and got there shortly after 8 (the boat was leaving as we walked up so had to wait on the next one...we never seemed to time that right).

We managed to get through all of Fantasyland in an hour....which was nice...the boys' first taste of the rides was basically walking right on (Small World) or a short wait (Peter Pan).  I hadn't been to Disney in 20 years so it was really interesting to revisit all of the rides that I remember as a child but as an adult.  Peter Pan is still captivating...Snow White is still scary...and Small World is still, uhm, boring.  Fantasyland is majorly under construction so I am glad we got to ride Snow White before it is gone....I can't wait to go back (in a couple of years) and see the whole new area they are building!

We were captured by the Evil Emperor Zurg!
But Buzz saved us!
Just before lunchtime we met up with our next group of Family - Julie, Bradley, Keagan, Rayne, Dad and Tina - we were quite the group!  But as soon as we found them we had to break away again to go to our next Character Meal at the Crystal Palace.  Here we met Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Eyeore.

Nate really surprised us on this trip....he didn't seem to be scared of anything.  He begged to ride the Haunted Mansion (which he didn't think was too scary), he wasn't phased by Snow White, and his favorite ride of the entire trip was Splash Mountain.  He loved it.  We even had to buy the picture they took of us going down the big drop to commemorate his exciting ride (and because it made us laugh hysterically):
I mean seriously....I am screaming like a baby and Nate is wide-eyed and smiling.  The other funny thing about this picture is that Michael's hat flew off midway down and the kid in the back caught it!  Nate loves to point that fun fact out when we look at this pic.
Argh....

The cousins had lots of fun chasing bubbles after the Jungle Boat Cruise
We spent all afternoon riding rides and having fun with the whole family.  But eventually the sun set on our day in the Magic Kingdom and we retired to the Lodge.
